An adaptation of the true story of an autistic boy who spent almost two weeks riding around New York’s subway system, the tests for this movie are beautifully shot and the actors’ initial improv scenes feel more natural and organic than anything I’ve seen since Friday Night Lights.
Stand Clear of the Closing Doors looks like it could be a rare thing in today’s universe: a worthwhile piece of film — that is, if it gets made. It needs $5000 more to reach its goal and get funded, and even then it’s a microbudget movie. If you’ve got a spare tenner or two, help these people out? I’d like to see what this looks like.
